“They are around us all the time, 365 days a year, year after amazing year: the sparkle of moonlight on the water, a gentle sunrise over a field of wheat, golden Tamaracks in the fall, interesting cloud formations, the forest glowing in the setting sun. They are ordinary miracles. They will, however, pass us by if we don’t take the time to SEE them. The silver lining on the dark cloud of the pandemic is that it gave us that time. This show celebrates the everyday moments in our natural world that inspire awe and wonder; that give us comfort, offer hope and help us heal.”

"I want to tell you our story and how we got to this moment right now, it is fair to say it will give a little more clarity to how we got here.
In 2014 I had just lost my mother prior to the birth of my first son Gus, and not long after the birth of our second son Finn we lost my partner's father. These losses were an awakening of just how fickle and momentous life can be, all at once the sea of life and loss was crashing down on us. To say it changed the course of our lives would be a massive understatement. We live every moment of every day with the constant reminder that: laughter, gentle touches, tears, play, and embraces are ours right here right now and will wash away in the ever changing ebb and flow of time.
Teddy, our third baby boy was born and we felt full and overflowing with joy and exhaustion. He has a tendency to hug strangers and bring a smile to every face in a room, just as his grandfather Dwayne had a similar effect on people. Finn is stubborn as a mule, and would have gone head to head with my mother and that is saying something. Gus has a gentle and caring nature and can feel everyone's energy in a room, he connects on a deeper level like myself and my dad.
In our family home we have my art studio. We built it into the original design, as I had a tendency to destroy a few rooms in our home prior to this one. This space originally built for me to create as a professional artist somehow transitioned into an area to connect and make magic happen. Although, this all being unexpected, was the happiest accident I have ever had in my life. Creating independently was never in the cards for me I suppose… And instead of fighting for my creative and professional solitude I have learned to embrace it, not force, but take it for what it is. Never have I witnessed so much joy pour out of my children. Not only has being creative allowed them to tap into a part of themselves that can be easily forgotten or neglected, but I has shown them another outlet to express themselves. They are confident and happy while painting, they connect to me as well as one another. I have never met a small child that has hesitated to create with me, they come at it with the completely uninhibited almost ignorant part of themselves knowing that they just: can. If only we all had this gift into adulthood.
And with that, I took a lesson from my son Finn who at 3 wasn’t afraid to take a black jiffy to every surface of our home (this is no exaggeration). Solution: buy more packs of giant ass black jiffies and get some more canvas, we have an artist on our hands! Taking his cue and painting for the sheer love of expressing yourself through whatever medium and means: Geometrics - The Finn Collection was born. Gus, Finn and Teddy had a hand in every painting, and titled every piece, giving even more joy and life to the artwork. They aptly titled the largest 3 panel painting BOWSER! I’m sure the paintings will bring a smile to every face that comes across them. And I can only hope this artwork can scratch the surface of the significance of our time spent together.
This collection is free, it is fun, it is bold, it’s abstract expressionism people! It is a collaboration of a professional artist of 15 years and her creative family out of the necessity to do so, an outcome of environmental factors merging into something magically stunning. Not that it needs an explanation: but feel an obligation to state as the majority of gallery representation is male: artwork can be made by a female, a mother who continued to pursue her career, and embrace the here and now and maintain a professional art practice with quality work. If you disagree with the previous statement please DO hesitate to contact us as this artwork is just not for you. The collection is made with archival, artist quality materials, cut, assembled, framed in hand built, hand stained, custom wood frames.
This collection was created out of love and pure uninhibited expression." -Brandi
