SaskGalleries to host 8th annual premier fine art fair Art Now in Regina
Art Now, the largest fine art fair of modern and contemporary art on the Canadian prairies, is back in Regina at a new location, Hall A at the Viterra International Trade Centre, September 14 - 17, and online from September 15 - 24.
The 8th edition of Art Now continues to be Saskatchewan’s premier fine art fair, featuring Saskatchewan commercial galleries and more than 500 works of art available for purchase.
“We’re excited to be able to return to Regina for Art Now 2023 in-person while maintaining a strong online presence,” says Kristin Wagman, Executive Director of SaskGalleries. “Art buyers will be able to engage with artists, gallerists, and exceptional original art to find the perfect pieces for their collection.”
The show features an opening night reception on Thursday September 14, beginning at 6:30 and entertainment will be provided by the 12-member Regina Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players. Tickets are $50 ($30 for artists and students) and can be purchased online. The show continues until September 17, with panels, artist talks, family programming, and more.
Premiering at this year’s Art Now is stART, a new area of the show dedicated to emerging artists and those in the early stages of their career, chosen by exhibiting galleries. Attendees are invited to discover a new up-and-coming favourite and support the next generation of artists. stART booths will be on display for the entire duration of Art Now.
In addition to the gallery booths, on display will be a special installation by artist Todd Gronsdahl called C.R.E.A.M. (Collection and Reuse of Environmental and Available Means).
